If the main text is Āryabhaṭīya, the length of the manuscript indicates that it must be accompanied by a ṭīkā. Five of the manuscripts that were in the Government Oriental Manuscripts Library at Madras in 1912 contain the Bhaṭaprakāśa of Sūryadeva, while one has the Bhaṭadīpikā of Parameśvara Ms. is in Grantha script written on palm leaves.
