First performed in 1890 in St. Petersburg, the Sleeping Beauty ballet, the grandest of all the surviving 19th-century ballets of the imperial Russian ballet, has been preserved in continuous performance by the company that created it. Presented here is the Kirov Ballet's performance filmed in 1982 on the company's 200th anniversary year
