Rolf Magener (3 August 1910 – 5 May 2000) was the first German prisoner to escape successfully from India during the Second World War. His daring escape from a camp at Dehradun in 1944 with mountaineer Heinrich Harrer is documented in Magener's memoir, ''Prisoner's Bluff''. After the war he became a successful business executive and chief financial officer for BASF, and held a senior-level position with Mercedes-Benz. Provided by Wikipedia
